High Rock Lake has approximately 360 miles of shoreline and covers almost 16,000 acres and is the second largest lake in North Carolina. Named after High Rock Mountain, the tallest mountain in the Uwharrie Mountain Range, it is fed by the Yadkin River and the numerous smaller rivers, streams, and springs.
Always known for the best bass fishing in the state, the prestigious BASS MASTERS CLASSIC has been held 3 times on the lake as well as other national and local fishing tournaments. High Rock Lake is currently managed and operated by the Alcoa Company.
